In the project ShowMe we develop with a partner of the automotive industry a virtual and intelligent assistance system for assembly tasks. It serves to increase efficiency, prevent errors and reduce stress for the labor force in the production. PROFACTOR builds in the development of the assistance system ShowMe on years of experience with 2D and 3D image processing and with adaptive systems. The system must be usable in a wide variety of problems and be adaptive. ShowMe learns through observation and analysis, and is thus able to calculate new assembly sequences and develop proposals for the workers. As an "outfit" for the assistant several variants are possible: Glasses with "augmented reality" technology, or displays that give the workers descriptive instructions.
