Hiroshi Yamamoto joined Toshiba in July 2018 as Corporate Digitization Chief Technology Officer. He is responsible for digital transformation strategy and expansion of digital technologies. He joined Toshiba from IBM, where he served as a Global Electronics Industry CTO since 2013. His career has been dedicated to software and system engineering, and IoT, Big data processing, service-oriented architecture, and the promotion of the capabilities necessary to achieve Cyber Physical System (CPS). He used to be a microcode engineer for embedded system for 7 years and then moved to system engineering division where he concentrated on enterprise systems, applying distributed computing technologies, CORBA, EJB and WebService. Then he started machine to machine system design in 2010 for leading innovation in Japan and overseas. His achievements earned him recognition as an IBM Distinguished Engineer in 2008. He holds seven patents for distributed computing.
