Dr. Markus Eisel, born in 1963, studied geophysics at Johann-Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt. From 1992 to 1999 he worked at GeoForschungsZentrum in Potsdam as research associate and received a PhD from Free University in Berlin in 1994. With a postdoc grant from Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst he spent two years as research fellow at the College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences at Oregon State Univ., invetigating the relations between natural electromagnetic fields and earthquakes. In 1999 he started his career in the IT industry as a Senior Consultant Networks & Security at S.E.S.A. AG, Eschborn. A year later he became the manager of the department Telecommunication und Networks. After the acquisition of S.E.S.A. by Scandinavian company TietoEnator he became manager of the department Consulting & New Technologies. In 2007 Dr. Eisel and his colleague Markus Hartmann founded SyroCon Consulting GmbH. He acts as managing director and is responsible for Business Development and Sales. SyroCon sees the Industrial Internet as one of the major pillars of the Digital Transformation.
