Sandra Hansen is a postdoc at the Functional Nanomaterials Chair in the Faculty of Engineering at Kiel University. Her research concentrates on the synthesis, production and characterisation of new and innovative silicon anodes and sulphur cathodes for high-performance Li-sulphur and Li-ion batteries. She was a visiting scholar at Stanford University. For her PhD thesis, she was awarded the Faculty Prize for the best dissertation in 2017. She leads a team researching battery development, which is constantly expanding.
