Dr. Youichi Nonaka joined Hitachi in 1992 and he is responsible for technologies of production engineering. He received the Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, and he was a visiting researcher of Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2001. He received several awards, such as the Best paper award, Royal academy of engineering, CIRP in 2007. In addition, he is appointed to the post of the Adjunct Professor for Applied Mathematical Modeling Collaborative Research Courses, Kyoto University from 2018. He is now the member of Working Group 1 – Action Group 1 of Robot Revolution & Industrial IoT Initiative, the Task Force 5 leader of IEC/ISO Joint Working Group 21 "Smart Manufacturing Reference Model(s)", and the convener of IEC System Committee Smart Manufacturing Ad-hoc Group 4 “Navigation Tools for SyC SM deliverables”, and so on.
