HANNOVER MESSE 2019,
01. - 05. April
Failing costs a lot. This is true across software, industrial manufacturing, medical care and more. But the question asks itself: How can we make production cheaper and safer by predicting failures before there's a problem? Software development has compilers, unit tests, functional tests and logging/monitoring tools, but how can we guarantee the same levels of safety, especially when everything runs in production? This is important given that failure in industrial or medical manufacturing may mean severe consequences.
We’ve reached a point where microcontrollers have gotten powerful enough and small enough that they can be integrated into hardware to communicate when hardware shows signs of failure long before it fails. Connect these mini computers to more powerful machines or the Cloud and you’ve got a framework to prevent catastrophic failure. Come to this talk to learn the pieces involved and how to set them all up into a real world predictive maintenance framework.
