Ansys is a global developer and provider of engineering simulation software used to predict the behavior of product designs in real-world environments. At HANNOVER MESSE 2024, Ansys will present AVxcelerate Autonomy, a unique end-to-end solution designed to reduce the cost and time to compliance of ADAS/AV systems for L2+, L3 and beyond by up to 100,000 times, according to the company. Developed in partnership with the BMW Group, Ansys AVxcelerate Autonomy enables organizations to drive digital transformation and perform the majority of test drives required for compliance virtually.

Thanks to increasingly powerful digital technology, users can validate safety by virtually assessing millions of known and unknown situations that mimic real-world driving scenarios. According to the provider, Ansys AVxcelerated Autonomy is cloud-native, modular and designed on the basis of an MBSE framework. Its flexible, open architecture follows the openX standards of the Association for Standardization of Automation and Measuring Systems (ASAM).

This industry standard facilitates seamless data transfer from the toolchain and supports integration into any enterprise solution via fixed APIs. The solution is in the process of achieving ISO 26262 certification, allowing organizations to develop their workflows for L3 certification and higher. AVxcelerate Autonomy utilizes extensive scenario variation management capabilities to perform sensitivity and reliability analysis to help users determine the likelihood of ADAS/AV system failure and validate systems at scale to find safety justification.

AVxcelerate Autonomy is designed for continuous safety validation and can provide over-the-air updates throughout the lifecycle of the product. By leveraging the power of a robust, adaptive and cloud-optimized exploration algorithm, users can accelerate sensitivity analysis by 1,000x compared to traditional algorithms. By replacing most physical testing with virtual road testing, users can speed up development by 100x, potentially achieving a 100,000x reduction in cost and time to compliance.
