There is no better place to apply and integrate innovative ideas and developments than in evolving environments. New housing developments set the perfect stage for saving resources and helping the environment with 21st-century heating and energy technology. ENERPIPE GmbH from Hilpoltstein in Central Franconia, Germany, is adopting precisely this approach with its innovative energy-saving heating systems and is showcasing its Local Heating 4.0 concept at HANNOVER MESSE 2017.

Local Heating 4.0 is a decentralized buffer storage system for new housing developments. In this system, a central power hub situated close to the houses, which can be operated as a cogeneration plant, for example, and is independent from major energy providers, generates heat. This is then fed through a local heating network of feed and return pipes to the houses. Inside the houses, decentralized local heating buffer storage systems with a transfer station ensure that heat is supplied safely and conveniently, as required. Of course, the benefits of this kind of system are not restricted to new builds. More and more neighborhoods are coming together to explore energy-conscious and environmentally friendly ways of jointly sourcing electricity and heat from renewable energies. The decentralized buffer storage system from ENERPIPE is also an option in these cases.
