This is what the first day of "Industry meets Renewables" is all about. The interdisciplinary conference will take place from September 11 to 12, 2023, as part of the HUSUM WIND trade fair at the NordseeCongressCentrum in Husum.

Tobias Goldschmidt, Minister for Energy Transition, Climate Protection, Environment and Nature of the State of Schleswig-Holstein, Ove Petersen, Chairman of watt_2.0 and Managing Director of GP JOULE, Knud Hansen, Vice President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Schleswig-Holstein, as well as Professor Dr. Bernd Hirschl, Research Field Leader and Topic Coordinator "Climate and Energy" at the Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW), will speak on the opening podium.

Professor Dr. Hirschl will open with an impulse on the status quo of the transformation in energy supply: How are actors involved? What can an update of the electricity market design look like? What incentives can and must be set at regional and political level?

In the afternoon, the focus will then be on the conversion and storage of electricity. In the first practical panel "Green hydrogen: Regions in transition - shaping and decarbonizing the future", experts from regional hydrogen networks will report. In the second panel "Energy supply: Renewable and Cross-Sectoral", business representatives will provide exciting insights into learning processes and applications from the fields of heat, storage, hydrogen and mobility.

The second day of the conference will start with the opening panel on the topic "Transformation of industry: Climate-neutral economy". Minister Goldschmidt, Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Board of Deutsche Messe AG, Ove Petersen, CEO, GP Joule as well as Dr. Jürgen Zeschky, CEO, Enercon, will discuss.

The "Industry meets Renewables" conference is under the patronage of Dr. Robert Habeck, Federal Minister of Economics and Climate Protection, and Tobias Goldschmidt, Minister for Energy Transition, Climate Protection, Environment and Nature of the State of Schleswig-Holstein.
