With the presentation of the market declaration for intelligent metering systems, the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) has now stated that smart meters are technically ready to be rolled out. This is the starting signal for the mandatory fitting of metering points with intelligent metering systems. High-consumption households and companies with an annual electricity consumption of between 6,000 and 100,000 kWh will initially be affected.
