Vienna University of Applied Sciences [Technikum Wien] inaugurates...

Starting in March of 2019, the biggest technical university in Austria will be offering a course in blockchain studies. Material will include a foundational course and modules on areas of specialization.

The Vienna University of Applied Sciences [ FH Technikum Wien Academy ] is collaborating with Vienna company Insticore GmbH to provide interested students of varying backgrounds with practical initial or advanced vocational training in blockchain technology . After completing the foundational course, students can choose between a technical or financial/regulatory concentration. They can also take supplementary seminars on industry-specific topics such as energy and utilities or healthcare. The student can choose which degree to complete: a certificate as a blockchain consultant, blockchain developer or senior blockchain expert.

In the context of rising demand from the industrial for appropriately highly trained professionals, the university’s decision seems to be fortuitous: According to a PwC study , 84% of all companies are already investigating the new technology in detail and testing its potential applications.
