Technologie-Transfer-Zentrum (ttz) Bremerhaven is a service provider of applied research and development in the areas of food, environment and health. The international team of experts in its Environment Department works together with companies, research partners and associations to focus on implementing new ideas and preparing them for market. At HANNOVER MESSE 2016, ttz is showcasing its BioRaf network, a platform for future-focused applied developments in small and medium-sized businesses. BioRaf brings together companies that process and refine biomass with institutes involved in developing innovative related processes and products as part of the bio-economy.

The BioRaf network’s mission is to develop new products, processes, end-to-end concepts and business fields for the benefit of the companies concerned. It also aims to use the synergy effects within the network in order to harness new potential in the field of bio-refinery – considering that industrial biomass-based bio-refineries form the cornerstone for creating an innovative and forward-looking industry. Furthermore, the idea is to create regional value creation chains and structures that will generate new employment opportunities, secure existing jobs and help the companies to gain a foothold in this new market and flourish.
