We make industry future-proof
SmartFactory Kaiserslautern (SF-KL) is a research and industry network that develops and tests the production of the future in theory and practice. The practical questions come from the technical and content-related working groups of the SF-KL, in which 40 companies are organised. Scientists from RPTU Kaiserslautern and DFKI support the answers with research projects on the topics mentioned. The common goal is to increase resilience, sustainability and value creation in industry.
SF-KL has established a service-based production structure in Kaiserslautern. Using state-of-the-art technologies such as digital twins, data rooms, administrative shells, production bots, etc., a model truck is produced as a sample product. This is a practical and industry-oriented way of testing how production can be carried out in the future.
