Robotics and most importantly intelligent control systems are undoubtedly central to growing automation in industry. OMRON Corporation, one of the world's leading companies in automation, introduced Fleet Manager, the industry's first single-system control of multiple LD-250 mobile robots with different payloads.
The new LD-250 mobile robot offers some pretty impressive credentials. Handling payloads of up to 250 kilograms and boasting a loading area almost twice the size that of its predecessor, it is ideal for transporting even large and heavy parts such as bulky packaging and transmission blocks. What’s more, the LD-250 is reportedly able to autonomously detect people and obstacles and automatically calculate the best route to avoid collisions. Moreover, to optimize operations with multiple industrial trucks, OMRON has also developed the Fleet Manager. The industry's first solution of its kind, it has been conceived to enable users to control up to 100 mobile OMRON robots with various payloads and roles. The Fleet Manager’s functions include traffic, battery and order management.
