This year's annual trade press conference took place at the HARTING Innovation Hub in Osnabrück. Here, some 30 journalists from different parts of the world had the opportunity to experience the Technology Group's innovative strength up close. The strong trade fair character of the event made this possible. This allowed guests to marvel at the latest products live, experience their functions and try them out themselves. The HARTING experts provided impetus and were available for a professional exchange.
The central importance of connection technology
At the subsequent preview of HANNOVER MESSE 2025, the technology group presented its current product highlights to around 100 interested media representatives. In line with the guiding theme in Hannover, “Shaping the future with technology”, the focus is on a high-performance and sustainable industry. For HARTING, this can be implemented with the vision of the All Electric Society – a world in which all energy needs are covered by electricity from renewable resources. The coupling of the sectors with each other and the networking within the sectors is crucial for the implementation of the All Electric Society. The sectors of industry, energy, mobility and infrastructure are referred to as sectors. These areas must be interconnected to ensure that energy and data can flow smoothly within and across them. The contribution that the technology group's connectivity technology makes to this was made clear at the HARTING trade press conference.
Energy
For the energy sector, the technology group presented, among other things, connectivity technology for the generation, transport, storage and use of electrical energy. The use of green hydrogen is a must for the energy transition. HARTING Connectivity offers robust and reliable solutions that make a decisive contribution to decarbonization. High-pole outdoor variants for container solutions and offshore applications are ideally suited for use in demanding industrial environments.
Mobility and Rolling Stock
The transformation in the mobility sector towards electrified drives offers HARTING a multitude of opportunities in a wide variety of areas. The focus is not only on the automobile. In individual sectors such as the construction industry, the transport, agricultural, mining and shipping sectors, the share of electrified drive concepts is steadily increasing. Due to increasing digitalization and the associated increase in data rates and speeds, the mobility sector needs solutions that meet these requirements. As a provider of charging solutions and pre-assembled cable assemblies, HARTING is an elementary component of this technological shift – with a broad connector portfolio that includes space-saving, energy-efficient, robust and easy-to-use connectivity. In this context, the technology group presented, among other things, customized jumper solutions based on the vehicle design and the structural conditions on the roof, between the wagons and in the underfloor area. To this end, the technology group uses both in-house developed and qualified connection technology for the specific application and high-quality cables from partner company Studer Cables. Another focus was on charging cable solutions for electric vehicles. Particular emphasis was placed on bidirectional and DC charging.
Industry
Another topic was M12 cabling solutions with inner & outer PushPull locking according to IEC 61076-2-010. These can be used in the machinery and robotics segments, among others. They offer a wide range of options for the pluggable connection of devices and drives in industrial environments. The consistent use of pre-assembled solutions, whether for internal wiring in the device or for connecting devices to each other, offers additional efficiency potential. This should make it possible to reduce the size of production lines and shorten assembly times.
