PDC specializes in diaphragm compression systems. From bare blocks to fully instrumented systems, our compressors are industry renowned for their reliability and robust performance, and the preferred choice for ultra -high purity gas applications requiring contamination-free and leak-tight compression. Available in single, two-stage, duplex, and three-stage configurations, PDC compressors are designed to customer specifications. Discharge pressures range from 50 psi to 15,000 psi (3.4 bar to 1000 bar), power consumption from 3hp to 150 hp, and flow rates up to approximately 2,000 Nm³/h, depending on inlet pressure and process gas. Today, PDC has over 2,000 compressors installed globally, including 1,400 installations in hydrogen energy applications.

Sustainability

Support the hydrogen energy transition: PDC’s triple metal diaphragm compressors are ideally suited for compressing hydrogen in a leak-free, contamination-free manner. We are driving the global hydrogen energy ecosystem by providing cutting-edge hydrogen compression technology that enables consumers, industries, and companies to abandon gasoline engines in favor of zero-emission fuel cells.

Environmentally friendly compression: The design of diaphragm compressors prevents gas from leaking into the atmosphere. As a backup safeguard, our machines employ a Leak Detection System that monitors both the gas and hydraulic sides of the compressor, triggering an alarm and shutdown when it detects an anomaly. A secondary containment LDS “O” ring prevents fugitive emissions from escaping to the atmosphere.

Future Outlook

According to Global Market Insights, the global hydrogen market size is projected to grow from $183 billion in 2022 to $317 billion by 2030. Various government authorities and agencies have introduced favorable initiatives, investment funds and incentives to spur hydrogen production to meet ambitious climate neutral targets. Hydrogen compressors are considered a key component in the growth of the hydrogen sector.

Hydrogen can be used broadly across industries including transport, steel, ammonia, refining, and power for commercial and residential applications. Its popularity has grown in recent years, thanks to the relative emission-cutting potential of hydrogen compared to fossil fuel-based energy sources.

As the hydrogen industry continues to grow, so will the need for a build-out of hydrogen infrastructure on a global scale. Diaphragm compressors are a critical component of this infrastructure. PDC Machines, is considered the global authority on diaphragm compression. With decades of experience, we are a knowledgeable solutions provider serving the hydrogen energy and industrial gas markets. PDC supports customers through a consultive approach, providing guidance at all project stages.

PDC Machines is a driving force behind the emerging hydrogen energy ecosystem. By supporting hydrogen fueling station build-out with mission critical compression equipment, we are taking a lead in the global green energy transformation.
