Abstract approaches for concrete results
At HANNOVER MESSE 2024, the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering IESE will be focusing in particular on data spaces and the digitalization of the manufacturing industry. Lighthouse projects such as Catena-X and Manufacturing-X are among the highlights, as are the advantages of digital twins.

For more than 25 years, the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering IESE in Kaiserslautern has been one of the leading research institutions in the field of software and system development methods. With the help of applied research, Fraunhofer IESE develops useful solutions for designing reliable digital ecosystems in order to accelerate their economic and social applicability. At HANNOVER MESSE 2024, Fraunhofer IESE will be focusing on current topics and pioneering processes, in particular the digitalization of manufacturing processes. At the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft's 900-square-meter joint booth, the IESE experts will provide in-depth insights into Manufacturing-X data rooms and their implementation, for example.
The topic of "digital twins" will also play a role as the key to efficient production. In various scenarios - from the calculation of the CO2 footprint to the creation of digital product passports and production in small batch sizes - digital twins can be used to optimize production processes and save costs and time.
In addition, Fraunhofer IESE, in collaboration with NetApp and the Industrial Digital Twin Association (IDTA) and Congatec, will present an innovative solution designed to enable companies of all sizes to seamlessly integrate data rooms into their manufacturing processes.
