When parking her car, Angela Merkel is used to having other people do it – not robots! That was something she had to see for herself. "The Federal Chancellor’s visit was a highlight of our appearance at HANNOVER MESSE," remembers Rupert Koch, Managing Director, Serva Transport Systems GmbH.

The Bavarian company’s stand was among the major visitor attractions in 2014 at the world’s leading industrial trade show. "The live presentation by our parking robot RAY of our turnkey solution was an international trade show premiere," explains Serva co-founder Koch. His company’s driverless transportation system functions "like a large forklift." "The robots can perform highly flexible maneuvers; they work with lasers and are computer-operated." RAY measures the size of the car to be parked, lifts it under the tires, and safely maneuvers it into a suitable parking space. A premium parking garage at the Düsseldorf airport has been using the system since 2014. Both VW and Audi have launched cooperative
projects with Serva. Rupert Koch has a simple explanation for what
draws him to Hannover.

"As a company targeting national and international customers, we are interested in starting up conversations with visitors from around the world at the exhibition."

To draw attention to its presence at the trade show, Serva sent a newsletter to prospects and to the trade show’s press release distribution list before the show began. "In addition, we were represented at the trade fair’s press preview event and were a stop along the red carpet," summarizes the Managing Director. Koch’s overall review of the company’s PR at the event is positive. "We received a great deal of exposure in the media by exhibiting at Hannover Messe."
