Artificial intelligence takes care of automation
Learning quickly from the stream of data flowing out of the controller and providing optimized models for industrial production: that’s what Rockwell Automation wants to achieve with the Sherlock AI project.

Diagnostic analytics solutions for industry generally require a deep understanding of the application being analyzed - preferably by experienced data scientists. This takes time and is not very flexible. Rockwell Automation has integrated these requirements and the required know-how into an AI solution (artificial intelligence). An analysis algorithm, fed with information from the controller tags and modeling objects that the user determines through the selection of inputs and outputs via an AOI (add on instruction), detects and reports anomalies after a learning phase in continuous operation, while performing operations that go beyond a mere diagnosis.
The interesting thing about the approach: this artificial intelligence does not need any historical data. As a result, the AI module offers industrial companies an analysis layer that upgrades not only analytics but also automation infrastructures.
