Over the past four years, Bosch has made around € 1.5 billion with connected systems for manufacturing and logistics. From 2022, Bosch wants to generate annual profit of over €1 billion with applications for Industry 4.0.
The Group is pursuing a two-fold strategy here: First, it plans to gradually equip all its 280 plants with connected automation technology, and thereby make them more efficient. The concept has already been implemented in Bosch’s plant in Blaichach in southern Germany, where the use of state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies successfully increased ABS and ESP volumes by 200% over a six-year period. Second, the Group also plans to sell the technology to other companies. One example of this are its autonomous vehicles for the intralogistics market recently showcased at the HANNOVER MESSE as prototypes and which are scheduled to go on sale this year.
