The creators of the robotics platform DBR77.com describe their solution as globally unique – nowhere else does a virtual space exist that enables manufacturing companies to design workstations using 3D tools and select the robot based on their needs and a financial and operational analysis of the workstation. The DBR77 platform combines two business models to achieve this: a marketplace and a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model. According to DBR77, this provides broad and general access to information on robotization. Ultimately, the platform connects manufacturing companies that need robotization and automation (investors) with companies that provide and integrate robotic systems (integrators). Work on the platform is done remotely in a specially developed 3D studio environment that uses technologies previously reserved exclusively for computer games.

An essential part of this concept is the Digital Development Roadmap (DRD). The digitalization roadmap is a tool that can be used by practitioners to create a comprehensive and long-term plan for the transformation of a manufacturing company from the analog to the digital world, an e-strategy for the digital age, so to speak. With the help of DRD, users can perform an analysis of the current state and thus find out which promising steps should be taken next.
