Connecting with Sweden
For Partner Country Sweden, making connections is the name of the game at HANNOVER MESSE 2019. This spirit is not only reflected by the Scandinavian country’s chosen motto of "Sweden Co-Lab“, but also in the architecture of its central pavilion in Hall 27 – a showcase designed to spark lots of interest in partnering up with Sweden in virtually every field of industry.

Sweden not only stands for innovations and fresh thinking in industry. The Scandinavians are also breaking new ground as a Partner Country. As the official Partner Country at HANNOVER MESSE 2019, Sweden will be issuing a different invitation every day: Monday it’s “Innovate With Us!”. Tuesday the slogan will “Go Digital With Us!”. On Wednesday it’s “Be Sustainable With Us!”, while on Thursday it’s all about “Openness – Come Collaborate With Us!”. And on Friday the slogan will be “Sweden in the World – Come Create With Us!”
The Sweden Co-Lab Pavilion (Hall 27, stand H30) will serve as the first port of call and a prime networking hub for representatives from politics, business, associations and the media, as well as for interested industry professionals. If you’re looking to connect with Swedish innovators and their innovations, this is the place to be.
The Swedes will provide for inspiration and conversation, staging a Business Summit (on Monday, from 11:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) as well as numerous interesting seminars and panel discussions. Leading figures from business, government and society will be ready and available for networking. In addition, top Swedish products and solutions from the raw materials, process and manufacturing industries will be highlighted, providing examples of what Sweden is capable of in terms of innovative, digital, sustainable and open contributions along the entire supply chain.
Take Tacton, for example:
One example of this is Tacton, a company specializing in Configure Price Quote (CPQ) software solutions for the manufacturing industry – solutions that connect customers with products and manufacturing. Concretely, Tacton will be showcasing a CPQ solution based on the use of artificial intelligence. Configured products can be embedded live into environments that are recorded via iPhone camera, where they can be freely moved around in the visualization and then edited or changed. The result is then transmitted back to the CPQ system in real time. At HANNOVER MESSE Tacton will be showcasing this solution together with two other Swedish partners – Industrilas and Piab
Or the PMH Application Lab…
Another example consists of the “Powertrain Manufacturing for Heavy Vehicles Application Lab” (PMH Application Lab) from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology – Sweden’s biggest research institute. The PMH Application Lab (stand B61 in research-focused Hall 2) is a collaborative project between the German Fraunhofer research institute and RISE – the Research Institutes of Sweden. The research and development work performed by the PMH Application Lab focuses on production technologies for heavy commercial vehicle engines and transmissions, Industry 4.0 solutions for optimized drive systems and electric drive system manufacturing. A committed consortium of commercial vehicle industry members, including Scania, Volvo and Sandvik Coromant, is working with the PMH Application Lab on several R&D projects for the optimization of technology readiness levels.
At HANNOVER MESSE, the PMH Application Lab will present the “Swedish-German Testbed for Smart Production” – an initiative to develop and test fully connected production technologies.
Or Ericsson…
At HANNOVER MESSE, Sweden will be actively seeking new cooperation opportunities as it works to expand existing innovation partnerships. At HANNOVER MESSE the Fraunhofer IPT institute and Swedish network supplier Ericsson will be presenting a live demonstration of how production facilities at different locations can be connected using the future 5G generation of mobile phones. Ericsson is bringing a 5G antenna to Hannover to make this tangible for attending professionals.
Startups enthusiastic about matchmaking
Sweden is also strong in the area of startups. Some 40 young Swedish enterprises from the fields of smart industry, IoT, energy, robotics, new materials and artificial intelligence will be available for contact with tech scouts, innovation managers and purchasing managers.
Conferences and forums with Swedish participation at HANNOVER MESSE:
But Swedish companies will not just be represented in Hall 27. A total of some 100 exhibitors across the entire HANNOVER MESSE site will help shape the profile of the Partner Country 2019, and Swedish specialists will also be speaking at a range of conferences and forums held during the fair – on Monday, for example, at the Industrial Supply Forum during its International Session focusing on global sales and cooperation opportunities. Also on Monday, Swedish experts will be appearing at the Industry 4.0 Forum to speak on digitization as a catalyst for innovation and change, zeroing in on the need for new business models, skills and leadership an age of smart industry. Robotics and automated production technologies will be the topic at Tuesday’s Sweden Forum staged by Germany Trade & Invest at the Global Business & Markets sector. Lighthouse projects from Sweden for the Smart City will be the topic of the Integrated Energy Forum on Wednesday at the fair. Contributions here will come from the Swedish Smart Grid Forum, Smart City Sweden, Vattenfall, ElectriCity, Chargestorm and GARO.
