Industrial companies are increasingly having to manufacture many different product variants, sometimes in rather small quantities. The three-axis positioning system (DAP) from LEANTECHNIK is designed to enable the cost-effective production of these product derivatives on a single line.

The DAP is particularly suitable for use in mass customization: it can be quickly adjusted to components with different dimensions without the need for conversion. Its flexibility and compact design make the DAP an attractive solution for all industries that manufacture product derivatives. In the automotive industry, for example, four to six DAPs lift, guide and position a car body throughout the entire manufacturing process.

The DAP's positioning accuracy is plus/minus 0.05 millimeters, which far exceeds the precision required in car manufacturing in the tenth of a millimeter range. The repeatability is also remarkable: it is between plus/minus 0.02 millimeters and plus/minus 0.01 millimeters. The individual axes of the DAP can be replaced by other axes with different technical specifications at any time. This gives the user maximum flexibility and allows them to respond quickly to changes in production conditions.

In cooperation with AMKmotion GmbH & Co. KG, LEANTECHNIK has recently optimized the DAP once again. The aim was to replace the control cabinet previously required on each production line with a decentralized drive solution. The powerful, decentralized servomotor iDT 5 from AMKmotion is ideally suited for this purpose because it is very compact. In iDT 5 servomotors, the drive and inverter form a mechatronic functional unit because the servo controller is located directly on the motor. This reduces the space required for control cabinets and cabling by up to 70 percent. LEANTECHNIK's DAP can be seen at HANNOVER MESSE 2025, along with a new lifgo series from the same company.
