What already works for drilling platforms, container ships, and industrial plants is now happening as a complex Smart City: 3DEXPERIENCity is the name of the model that Dassault Systèmes uses to design the complete city-state of Singapore as a digital twin City planners are hoping for more efficient energy consumption from such digital images. Shops can adapt their opening hours to the flow of passers-by, and in the virtual 3D model of the city, airflows on skyscrapers can be simulated, traffic light phases tested and wireless networks stretched out.

In addition, 3DEXPERIENCity can provide a kind of unified platform economy. Bernard Charlès of Dassault Systèmes describes it as “a single virtual social enterprise” with very flexible joints in the value chain, depending on the perspective both distribution channel and procurement channel . It is clear that it is still a somewhat unrealistic future vision, but it is also clear that this disruptive concept will result in new business models in the industry.

Dassault will exhibit its DELMIA product portfolio (production simulation) and ENOVIA project management at the Hannover Fair 2018 ( Hall 6, booth K30 ) along with other products. Both solutions are based on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
