In the future, Dell Technologies and Microsoft will partner to offer a joint end-to-end IoT solution for industrial enterprises. IoT applications and services from Microsoft Azure at the network edge, the VMware Pulse IoT Center and Dell Edge Gateways as IoT devices are combined with the intention of facilitating companies’ IoT implementation and providing a secure solution for consistently managing infrastructure from end devices to the cloud.

Supported IoT scenarios include predictive maintenance, supply chain transparency and a wide range of other use cases, with the VMware Pulse IoT Center serving as a management and monitoring bridge between the hardware (Dell Edge Gateways or other certified edge systems), networked sensors and wired or wireless devices, and Microsoft Azure IoT Edge. The new IoT solution should be available to Dell Technologies and Microsoft customers and channel partners from the second half of 2018.
