Companies and institutions that participate in the HANNOVER MESSE Digital Edition can submit their entries for the HERMES AWARD until 12 March 2021.
The criteria for evaluating HERMES AWARD entries include level of innovation; benefits for industry, environment and society; profitability; and market readiness. An independent jury chaired by Dr. Reimund Neugebauer, president of the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, will nominate three products for the HERMES AWARD and determine the winner from this group. Germany’s minister for education and research, Anja Karliczek, will present the award.
In 2020, the product omlox – open location standard was awarded the HERMES AWARD. More than 60 industrial companies were involved in the development of the global solution that is independent of location technology. The omlox standard combines all the location services available on the market, including UWB, WLAN, BLE, GPS, and 5G. These are transferred to a uniform coordinate reference system and can be made available for internal use on edge platforms or for global use in a cloud.
