According to its developers, the software and service enhancements in Ansys 2023 R1 are designed to bundle and amplify the already great benefits that engineering simulation has already offered multidisciplinary engineering and R&D teams. By taking advantage of performance enhancements, cross-discipline workflow integrations and innovative features, Ansys 2023 R1 is said to enable companies to overcome complexity and integration challenges to develop the next generation of world-changing products. "Simulation enables design teams to move in the right direction by quickly and confidently making decisions that define market leadership," said Shane Emswiler, senior vice president of products at Ansys. "Our latest advancements help engineers scale their success through increased accuracy, streamlined workflows and cloud scalability."

Improved simulation performance

The Structures product suite offers new features and capabilities that enable users to perform more accurate, efficient and customisable simulation analysis. For example, a new feature in Ansys Mechanical allows users to use AI/ML to determine the computational effort and time required for a simulation.

Run large high-fidelity simulations more efficiently

In addition, Ansys 2023 R1 aims to enable users to run large high-fidelity simulations more efficiently by overcoming hardware capacity limitations with high-performance computing (HPC) and using improved solver algorithms that take advantage of GPUs.

The new version of the multi-GPU solver in Ansys Fluent computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software unleashes the power of multiple GPUs for a wide range of applications, significantly reducing solution time and overall power consumption.

From anywhere and on virtually any device

Ansys Gateway powered by AWS also enables designers, developers and engineers to manage their entire Ansys simulation and CAD/CAE projects from anywhere and on virtually any device via a web browser. The new release also empowers design teams to quickly create or resize virtual machines and HPC clusters, while streamlining access for teams via AWS cloud subscriptions and flexible single sign-on capabilities for accessing enterprise environments.

Integrate and automate workflows

Ansys 2023 R1 builds on the material, simulation process and data management (SPDM), optimisation and model-based system engineering (MBSE) capabilities to improve engineering efficiency by supporting intelligent workflow automation and collaboration. The Ansys Connect product suite is said to feature usability enhancements, new integrations and user-friendly features to more easily connect the latest processes, tools and data for different engineering teams.
