How does intelligent networking make industrial manufacturing easier? Baumüller offers answers in a live presentation. The team shows how simple it is to service and operate a machine located at Baumüller’s headquarters in Nuremberg from their exhibition stand in Hannover. At MobiliTec, the leading trade show for hybrid and electric drive technologies, mobile energy storage and alternative mobility technologies, Baumüller is presenting innovative solutions for mobile work machines, eBikes, electric buses and hybrid ships. Components for small wind turbines and hydro plants are also in the mix. According to the company, the hydroelectricity sector still offers great potential, in particular from the modernization of existing plants. Baumüller offers particularly effective all-in solutions for small hydro plants to help promote the growth of hydropower. One of the system’s cleverer features is that Baumüller uses direct drive units instead of conventional generators. These multipole, high torque synchronous generators provide very high performance even under partial load conditions. Using converter technology and modern controls, they optimally adjust to natural fluctuations in water flow through hydro plants. Because in nature, water flows sometimes slowly, sometimes much faster through the system. The benefits in a nutshell: this low-maintenance, rapid-response system performs optimally even with widely varying water flow, and the water cooling component is integrated.
