Deutschmann Automation, a specialist in industrial data communication based in Bad Camberg, supplies various series of Industrial Ethernet and fieldbus gateways, embedded solutions and protocol converters for network-compatible systems under the brand name UNIGATE. The compatible data communication products are developed and manufactured in Germany. Now the company has announced that the embedded solution UNIGATE IC2 is now also available from stock, enabling customer demand to be met more quickly. The ready-to-run all-in-one bus nodes of the UNIGATE IC2 series provide a complete family of different Industrial Ethernet and fieldbus communication modules.
The pre-certified embedded communication interface from Deutschmann Automation can be integrated directly into an industrial device or sensor system without having to make changes to the firmware. With UNIGATE IC2, the design costs and time to market of the end product can be significantly optimized compared to an interface developed by the customer themselves.
The powerful embedded series UNIGATE IC2 is based on ARM Cortex-M4 processor technology, which enables faster communication with the application side via SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) or UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter). The compact 45 x 25 millimeter module integrates a microcontroller, flash memory, RAM, optocouplers and bus drivers.
For the proprietary protocol connection between UNIGATE IC2 and the end device, Deutschmann Automation offers its own script language, developed in-house, which is highly flexible and complex. Programming is done with the Protocol Developer Tool, which is available free of charge from Deutschmann Automation.
