Application developers can connect to the right service providers through the IoT Accelerator Marketplace , and gain access to a variety of global mobile networking programming interfaces. In addition, the platform offers functions for monetizing and billing services directly from the Marketplace. Service providers can thus flexibly access the different offers of different developers and bundle them according to the requirements of their clients. Users of all groups can request access through Ericsson’s website.
Such a platform could create movement on the developer side in the IoT market, which is currently going forward more slowly than experts had predicted. So far only about one in four companies has their own experience with the Internet of Things . Security concerns and also the complexity of many solutions are reasons for the previous reluctance of many leading figures in the industry. In addition, rapid dissemination of IoT solutions is halted by cost concerns, which are not always justified.
