Competitors? Ralph Weidling isn’t interested in them – at least not at the trade show. “We focus on customers,” explains the Managing Director of Weicon, an adhesive and sealant manufacturer. “The purpose of our stand at HANNOVER MESSE is first and foremost to gain new customers and present innovations to our existing customers. The competition is not the reason we regularly exhibit here.”

Weicon operates five subsidiaries abroad and is represented by commercial partners in more than 70 countries. That’s almost the number of trade shows that this company from Münster is exhibits at every year. Weicon participates in 40 to 50 trade shows around the world each year in order to showcase their products and innovations. It’s an unusually high number but it is “a unique selling point” in contrast to other medium-sized companies, as Ralph Weidling has determined. “Since we supply our products to almost every industry, we also need to be on site at the trade shows to present our innovations and explain how to use and handle them.”

“HANNOVER MESSE has long been one of the most important dates in Weicon’s exhibition calendar. We’ve been a permanent fixture here since the 1950s.”

For their 56 appearance in 2015, the company decided to occupy two stands – one for chemo-technical products and one for insulation stripping tools.

Among other things, the company showcased its crystal clear construction adhesive WEICON RK-7200 which makes it possible to invisibly bond joints. In addition Weicon presented GMK 2510, a contact adhesive to bond rubber and metal. The technical sprays focused on a physiologically harmless silicon fluid that can be used as a lubricant in sensitive industries. A professional starter set and an oversheath stripper were presented among the stripping tools.

“We enjoy coming to Hannover – not only to present our latest products but also to discover innovations from all industrial sectors,” says the Weicon Managing Director. Weidling sees adhesive technology as a key technology for many industries. “It is the joining technology of the 21st century. Without adhesives, products such as cars, smartphones, televisions or even footballs would not be possible in their current form. At the world’s leading industrial trade show this should be recognized and appreciated even more.”
