Since 2017, Vogel Communications Group and MEDIATE have been awarding trailblazing German companies the title of “ Digital Transformer of the Year ” (DOTY). This year, the jury recognized the extensive strategy of Festo , the automatization and control system experts from Esslingen, in the category of “Industry and Technology”. The business’s digitization concept relates not only to the development of digital products and services, it also includes Festo Didactic , a supplementary digital training program in the field of industrial automation.

In cooperation with Resolto IT from Herford, Germany, Festo is pushing for increased implementation of AI technology in its own products and applications based on Resolto’s AI platform, Scraitec . It enables a smart, real-time on edge analysis and data is processed directly at the machine with no latency, unlike cloud-based approaches. Other DOTY 2019 awards went to Volkswagen (automotive), Siemens (machine and plant engineering) and the Haufe Group (media).
