Heat map provides information on cybersecurity abroad
Cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection are essential for companies. The consulting firm Deloitte and the Federation of German Industries (BDI) have compiled the relevant regulations for selected world regions

Although internationally active corporations must ensure that they comply with local laws when investing abroad, protecting their systems is obviously in their own interest. BDI and Deloitte have neatly compiled the most important information for 22 countries in a total of five interactive cyber-landscapes . Countries that are highly relevant for German industry were deliberately selected. The maps cover relevant laws regarding cybersecurity, critical infrastructure protection, incident reporting, intellectual property protection and cyber insurance. Additional information such as encryption regulations will soon be added to the maps.
However, as a survey conducted by the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) shows, the foreign budgets of German companies recently fell to their lowest level since 2013. The main reasons are apparently uncertainties in the wake of by Brexit, global trade conflicts and US sanctions.
