Seven at a time: One model that the image processing specialist Asentics is bringing to HANNOVER MESSE demonstrates seven highly complex applications of its system. "From demanding surface inspections to component testing and 3D applications, we will show image processing solutions that fulfill all the requirements of advanced zero-defect manufacturing and 100 percent control," explains Axel Scharbert, Marketing Manager at Asentics GmbH & Co. KG. In addition, the model "reveals the importance of image processing in the context of Industry 4.0 and the possibilities that can be used for plant automation,"says Scharbert.

Asentics is showcasing its solutions at the Application Park Robotics, Automation & Vision , a place that draws the crowds at Industrial Automation. At this special display area in Hall 17, visitors can experience automation technology live and in action. In addition to systems houses and robot manufacturers, image processing companies showcase their highlights at the Application Park. Alongside Asentics, Stemmer Imaging is spotlighting intelligent cameras and complete image processing systems. MVTec and attentra, regular exhibitors at the Application Park, are once again present.

"As the eye of production, industrial image processing is a key technology for safe and efficient processes in Industry 4.0 and smart factory scenarios," explains MVTec regarding HANNOVER MESSE 2016. One example of this is safe human-machine interaction. "What's more, when it comes to flexibly adapting production processes and producing small batch sizes efficiently, simple solutions for creating machine vision applications are becoming increasingly important," according to the company. At the Application Park, MVTec is spotlighting interactive demos and ways to apply industrial image processing (IIP) in automated production environments. Based on HALCON and MERLIC, its standard software products, the company will provide interactive demonstrations of edge-based localization and measurement on an industrial component, along with a machine-vision application on a standard industry PC with a standard industrial camera, machine vision PLC communication, and a display that reads bar codes of varying code quality

Numerous other IIP providers can be found in proximity to the Application Park in Hall 17 . Aicon 3D Systems, DIAS Infrared, InfraTec, ISRA VISION, Meta Vision Systems and Optris can all be found at Industrial Automation 2016. Image processing specialists also provide important contributions to the hotly debated topic of predictive maintenance, which can also be found in Hall 17 in a new special display area.
