At the announcement of the winners of the Braunschweig Start-Up Prize in early December 2024, Dr. Ingo Lippmann, Chairman of the Board of Braunschweigische Landessparkasse (BLSK), and Gerold Leppa, Managing Director of Braunschweig Zukunft GmbH, paid tribute to the courage of all the entrepreneurs who had applied for the Braunschweig Start-Up Prize 2024. “They all founded their companies during the coronavirus pandemic and thus in a challenging economic environment. Their courage has paid off,” said Gerold Leppa.
Entrepreneurial virtues point the way to success
From among the applications submitted from a wide range of sectors, LBR Engineering UG, a company co-founded by Marcus Rauch, Enno Brokof and Jan-Rickmer Luth, was named the winner and received prize money of €5,000. According to the speakers, the LBR Engineering team's LBR.one, the first industrial 5-axis CNC milling machine, enables a high degree of flexibility in industrial production. The product, which is significantly smaller than conventional CNC milling machines, is designed to enable companies to quickly and cost-effectively produce their own prototypes. “With your entrepreneurial courage, your tenacity and your pursuit of excellence, you have shown what is possible when visions become reality. And that is why we are rightly honoring you today with the first prize in the start-up competition of Braunschweig Zukunft GmbH and BLSK,” said Dr. Ingo Lippmann, praising the start-up team.
Industrial production in the smallest of spaces
LBR itself is driven by the vision that industrial production in the future should no longer be reserved only for large workshops and production halls, but should also be available to developers in their own offices. The LBR.one is the first industrial 5-axis CNC milling machine to combine a compact footprint with both high-performance machining and an innovative, digitally networked control system. With a footprint of just one square meter, it fits perfectly into any working environment, from the ultra-modern laboratory to the small development department. Its high-performance spindle enables the machining of a wide range of materials, from plastics and aluminum to titanium. Thanks to its high precision and energy efficiency, it is ideally suited for flexible development projects, according to LBR.
Perfect integration into existing processes
According to its developers, the LBR.one is more than just a milling machine; with comprehensive software interfaces to CAD/CAM, web-based access to the machine and a detailed evaluation of the manufacturing data, it represents a holistic solution that can be seamlessly integrated into existing development processes. This complete package is designed to enable the entire manufacturing process to be seamlessly integrated into existing processes, from planning to production.
