Heat, cold and electricity, material, water, surface – industrial parks typically consume a lot of resources. The new ‘resource-efficient industrial park’ online tool is especially designed for small and medium-sized companies. With the help of a visualized industrial park, the interactive tool clearly illustrates how to effectively save resources. Inter-company cooperation allows the more efficient use of resources and residues while reducing emissions and waste. Savings can also be made by feeding the waste heat produced during production into the heating network of surrounding residential areas. The new tool is available on the VDI Resource Efficiency Center (VDI ZRE) website. The corresponding short analysis can also be downloaded free of charge.
In addition to production infrastructure, production of printed products, industry-oriented woodworking and printed circuit board technology , the new tool forms the fifth process chain in VDI ZRE's information offer.
