The business directory by the Association for Sensor and Measuring Technology (AMA) is published in German and English. The table of contents is arranged in terms of measurement categories, and the 460 AMA members are listed in alphabetical order. A filter can be used to search for specific products or providers. According to the association, data from sensors and measuring systems will play an important role in digitizing the industry of the future.
The German Engineering Federation ( VDMA ) agrees with this assessment. Its "Sensors for Industry 4.0" guide (click here for the English version) addresses both users and manufacturers of such systems. It focuses on ways to reduce costs. Compared to sensors in the automotive sector, unit numbers tend to be much lower in industrial applications. This means that development costs have to be spread across fewer sold units. A total of seven key questions and five so-called tool boxes help companies implement their own sensor applications as cost-effectively as possible.
