What inspired you to pursue a career in STEM?

TecTechnology has always been the language of my heart - a universal force that connects, creates opportunities and drives innovation. Even as a child, I worked on our old box computer, wrote my first programmes and was the ‘technical contact point’ for family and friends. If there was a problem, the question was often: ‘Xheneta, can you help?’

These early experiences showed me that technology is not just about algorithms and machines, but above all about solutions that empower people. My path into STEM was therefore not a choice, but a natural progression of my enthusiasm for problem solving. Today, I live my passion by transforming companies with innovative technologies, AI and cloud solutions - while sharing my knowledge to support others on their journey into the tech world.

What challenges have you overcome on your career path so far?

My greatest fulfilment comes from combining my passion for technology with my belief that knowledge must be shared. In my role as Cloud Solution Architect, I drive innovation with AI and cloud technologies, helping organisations shape their digital future. But my commitment goes beyond that.

As the leader of Microsoft's Social Project Initiative, I work with a team of dedicated technology enthusiasts to organise volunteer projects - whether it's supporting the Deutsche Tafel food bank, fundraising for refugee primary schools, or providing Christmas presents for underprivileged children. I am involved in digital education: As a digital skills teacher at the ReDi Digital School of Innovation, I was able to teach women from immigrant backgrounds basic digital skills such as email communication, presentation creation or document management on weekends to help them enter the digital world.

I am also involved as a mentor in programmes such as the Microsoft SkillHer AI initiative and the WIB - Women in Business programme at my alma mater LMU to support young women in STEM careers. For me, technology is not just about innovation - it is a tool to connect people, break down barriers and create opportunities for all.

What message would you like to pass on to young women who want to pursue a career in STEM?
