Darmstadt-based ISRA VISION, an expert in three-dimensional machine vision applications, has received a major order of more than five million euros to "digitize the surface inspection of a pan-European food packaging manufacturer," according to a statement. According to ISRA VISION, industrial image processing also allows the examination of multilayer materials and makes the entire process more efficient by detecting potential packaging errors early on. The Darmstadt-based company states that its high-resolution recognition technology, which is designed for in-line quality control, works precisely at path speeds of several hundred meters per minute down to the nano range. The inspection systems should also be retrofitted cost-effectively in existing production facilities.
But machine vision technologies can do even more: The automated optical inspection systems from VITRONIC scrutinize even complex components from the photovoltaic industry, while high-resolution cameras in Cobots serve as eyes and, in conjunction with artificial intelligence, allow direct evaluation of the acquired data.
