The German Association of Industrial Engineers (VWI) is urging companies not to concentrate solely on accelerating and automating production processes when it comes to Industry 4.0. In order to leverage the full potential of digital corporate transformation, dedicated management 4.0 concepts are needed to develop new business models and processes.
That is why the association has decided to focus on the issue and presented a corresponding guideline at the HANNOVER MESSE. The Dortmund management model developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics (IML) and the Technical University of Dortmund is intended to link technology and management more closely as a starting point for new management concepts.
