Maplesoft is adding a component for the virtual mapping of industrial manufacturing equipmen t to the MapleSim multidomain software for modelling and simulating complex systems. The current MapleSim 2018 version uses the 1D Motion Generation app to generate additional motion profiles for digital twins. This enables MapleSim to also process data on the speed and acceleration of simulated production areas.
For example, the software makes it possible to check joint movements and to calculate the required force and torque. Companies can use the data obtained to select the optimal engines for their intended application. The main advantages of system simulation using digital twins are increased efficiency and reduced cost: optimized processes can be planned before the concrete implementation of the production processes, while possible sources of error and process delays can be preventively detected and eliminated .
