Measuring on the surface is so yesterday
With the new generation of 3D snapshot sensors surfaceCONTROL, Micro-Epsilon wants to achieve a new level in 3D surface measurement technology. The sensors not only offer the highest Z-precision, but now also an outstanding resolution in the XY direction. As a result, according to Micro-Epsilon, the sensors will be able to detect even finer details and perform even more accurate measurements in the future than before.

With its 3D snapshot sensors in the surfaceCONTROL series, Micro-Epsilon aims to set new standards in the geometry, shape and surface inspection of matt objects. The sensors in the latest generation offer a Z-repeatability of 0.25 micrometres with the best XY resolution of up to eight micrometres. This means that even the finest details on surfaces can be detected and high-resolution measurements can be carried out.
Sensors in the surfaceCONTROL series are designed for use wherever the highest precision is required. This includes applications in the automotive, aerospace and medical industries, as well as in semiconductors, additive manufacturing and research and development. With these inline-capable sensors, Micro-Epsilon offers industrial customers a complete solution from data acquisition to measured value output. In addition, there are extensive interfaces.
The new measuring range of 30 millimeters complements the model series of geometry, shape and surface inspection systems surfaceCONTROL 3D 3xx0 for matte targets. This sensor is suitable for smaller objects with a maximum dimension of 31 by 19.5 millimeters. For measurements in harsh production environments or for use on robots, the sensor is embedded in a stable aluminum housing and certified with an IP67 protection rating.
