What problem does your product solve?

The O8 compact design is an optimum choice where space is at a premium in handling technology and robotics. Thanks to the new interface for the communication medium "IO-Link" the switch point can easily be set or a continuous distance value to the nearest millimetre can be provided.

What is the main advantage of your product for customers?

The O8 guarantees a reliable distance measurement thanks to its colour-independent operating principle and reliable background suppression with a diode array. This allows correct detection of small, flat or reflective objects.

Why would you refer to your product as "intelligent"?

The O8 reliably detects objects at a distance of up to 80 mm and directly transmits the acquired data to the controller via the communication interface "IO-Link". If an object to be detected cannot be recognised this means absence or wrong installation of the part, automatically triggering, for example, the rejection of a faulty PCB.

What else is important?

With the quick mounting set the sensor can be mounted with just one M3 screw within seconds.
