Dear readers,

Innovation is not just a process, it is also a mindset. This is what makes cross-sectoral events like HANNOVER MESSE so valuable. They provide a platform for ideas that will hopefully spread further.

The Future Hub in Hall 2 invites you to look to the future and experience research and innovation first-hand – from the bioeconomy to artificial intelligence and hydrogen technologies. Around 150 exhibitors from universities, institutes and start-ups in Germany and numerous partner countries are presenting their latest work and prototypes, and look forward to talking to you. Whether you’re an award-winning expert or fledgling newcomer looking for a job – everyone is very welcome! The Future Hub is aimed at being not only a window into the future, but also a launching pad.

The variety of topics covered is as broad as the future itself, ranging from basic research to application, looking at them from the angles of both science and industry. This year’s special focus will be on a topic that is gaining in importance: quantum technologies. They will also be at the heart of the Chancenplattform, the central exhibition space of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, with the theme ‘This is where transformation starts’. The exhibition platform and the InnoTruck provide a space for discussing the very smallest particles as well as the major questions of our time, such as: How can Germany remain an attractive location for innovation? What are the energies of the future? How can we ensure successful research transfer, value creation and technological sovereignty? Those looking for advice on research funding should turn to us, just as anyone who still needs to learn about our Federal Agency for Disruptive Innovation which has been given plenty more room for manoeuvre by our recent SPRIND Freedom Act.

I wish all of you, exhibitors and visitors alike, an inspiring time.
