Julia White , Vice President of the Microsoft cloud platform Azure , announced in a blog post on April 4, 2018, that the company will invest a total of $5 billion, just over four billion euros, in the Internet of Things over the next four years. The funds are intended to support research and development in key areas. But they will flow into new products, services, and programs in particular. The focus will be on IoT security, development tools and networked services.
With these new offers, the Group wants to make it easier for companies of all sizes and different budgets to enter the Internet of Things across all industries. As a result, Microsoft customers will have more options to network their offices or production facilities. Microsoft will introduce IoT projects from customers and partners, for example from Chevron , at the Hannover Messe ( hall 7, booth C40 )
