Mitsubishi Electric’s Factory Automation EMEA division is cooperating with software developer CONTACT to integrate its digital twin solution into its Industry 4.0 portfolio. As the youngest member of the e-F@ctory Alliance , CONTACT Software complements Mitsubishi’s global network, which focuses on networked production. The program generates digital twins of industrial robots and monitors the status on the basis of operating data.
In addition, subprocess systems from an overall production context can be supplemented, for example by automatically triggering predefined actions – when maintenance tasks are pending, for instance. Elements for IoT by CONTACT was named Factory Software of the Year 2019 by the Research and Application Center Industry 4.0 of the Department of Business Informatics at the University of Potsdam.
