To ensure gases and liquids are well combined, mixing components nearly always need to have moving parts, which almost inevitably makes machinery more likely to need repairs and maintenance. But all that looks set to change as Berlin startup FDX Fluid Dynamix celebrates the premiere of its unique OsciJet nozzle at HANNOVER MESSE 2016, which for the first time can produce a spatially oscillating jet without using any moving parts – and it’s thanks to a special fluid oscillator.

The OsciJet nozzle, which is based on the company’s own in-house technology platform, enables FDX to create an oscillating jet of liquid without moving parts, even under the trickiest conditions – and without compromising on the overall system’s durability, reliability and maintenance intervals. With its fast, efficient and precisely adjustable frequency spectrum, which ranges from a few oscillations per second to almost ultrasonic levels, the OsciJet nozzle can generate the required frequency range for almost any process. From fuel-air mixtures in engines to the water jets used in dishwashers, the wear-free OsciJet nozzle achieves a mixture quality that is up to 15-times superior, thus not only optimizing operation, but saving procurement and maintenance costs at the same time.
