Highly dynamic tool changers, robots, dental milling machines and surgical robots in the medical sector - they all benefit from the high single-stage reduction ratios of the shaft gearboxes and the resulting high-performance, absolutely precise and repeatable motion sequence. The DATORKER shaft gearboxes from HIWIN, for example, are already in use in many automation solutions.

The Black Forest-based company has now added a heavy load version to its DATORKER shaft gearboxes. The new DGC/DGH series achieves the increased torques thanks to a specially used material mix. An additional heat treatment also makes these components particularly resistant to withstand exceptional loads. The external dimensions remain unchanged compared to the standard series. "Our new heavy-duty series can therefore be used without great effort wherever our shaft gearboxes or comparable shaft gearboxes were used," says a delighted Werner Mäurer, Managing Director of HIWIN GmbH.

With more than 10,000 operating hours, the new shaft gearboxes are expected to achieve a 43 percent longer service life. The new manufacturing process of the Heavy Load series thus ensures that the gearboxes can be used for significantly longer, with the focus always being on stable positioning and repeat accuracy. The entire DATORKER portfolio has also been given a new reduction ratio of 1:160, enabling the compact gearboxes to achieve repeatable peak torques of between 23 and 484 Newton meters and a power density of up to 545 Newton meters per kilogram in just one stage.
