Bosch Rexroth, a supplier of drive and control technologies, is now expanding its comprehensive VarioFlow conveyor system module to include the new VarioFlow belt modular belt conveyor variant with a fine-mesh belt surface. This is designed in particular for the efficient and gentle transportation of packaged fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG). According to the manufacturer, the VarioFlow belt fits seamlessly into the VarioFlow system landscape, reduces engineering times and enables a customized material flow.

Wide range of applications

Nevertheless, the new VarioFlow belt modular belt conveyor is a standalone conveyor system for FMCG and pharmaceutical/healthcare applications. The modular belt has a very close-meshed, virtually closed and flat surface. This makes it suitable for the bulk transport of unstable or bulk film-wrapped products such as small sachets. Users can also use the modular belt conveyor to transport large or wide products, such as kitchen towel rolls or toilet paper. In the case of horizontal sections, stable products can even protrude laterally. Unlike conventional chain conveyor systems, modular belts are also suitable for directly transporting deep-drawn plastic trays, which usually have a delicate contact surface.

Its own basic modules – identical system components

VarioFlow belt includes modular belts in standard belt widths of 406 and 608 millimeters. Thanks to scalable cross-connectors, integrators can also implement different belt widths beyond the standard with identical system components. The basic modules of the modular belt conveyor system include the base unit for the drive, the deflection, the route profile, and vertical and horizontal curves. This allows for conveying lengths of up to 30 meters, layouts with curves on both sides, and conveying speeds of up to 40 meters per minute to be realized with a single drive. In the accessories area, VarioFlow plus and VarioFlow belt use identical system components such as product guides, line supports or drive kits.

Fast configuration and design with MTpro

MTpro, the free, intuitive software for planning assembly systems, supports users from selection and configuration to ordering of Rexroth products. The layout designer makes it possible to design even complex structures and system layouts in the shortest possible time. An integrated evaluation function of the individual configuration eliminates the need for a third-party review of the design and further reduces engineering times.

Quick and easy assembly

Smart solutions also save time when it comes to assembling the conveyor lines. For example, fewer slide rails are required than in conventional solutions. The slide rail is fixed in place from the side without the need for rivets. This eliminates the need to machine the running surface. In addition, VarioFlow belt is said to operate particularly smoothly and with low wear.
