3D multimedia glasses and virtual reality headsets are all the rage, that has been clear at least since Mark Zuckerberg recently spent some USD 2 billion to acquire Oculus Rift, one of the leading developers in this field. But while their US equivalent is focused mainly on gaming possibilities, the Germans at Carl Zeiss are seeking to cover a far broader range of applications with their OLED cinemizer® 3D virtual reality video glasses. Zeiss is showcasing a whole spectrum of unusual visualization solutions using their OLED cinemizer® 3D multimedia glasses at this year's HANNOVER MESSE.
Set up as a full mobile system, the OLED cinemizer® offers architects, floor planners and facility developers a multitude of new possibilities. Users can directly enter into plans and blueprints instead of evaluating them on a monitor, as visitors to HANNOVER MESSE 2014 can experience fully on a virtual building tour based on Graphisoft architectural software. Zeiss also offers visitors the opportunity to take a virtual city tour, or pilot a Parrot AR quadrocopter while simultaneously watching its live images on the OLED cinemizer® display.
